Job Summary
A Program Activities Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Site Manager with overseeing fifty to seventy elementary, middle, or high school students at individual schools in the after-school hours. Program Activities Coordinator works with managers and acts as the point of contact for grant specific enrichment programming while the Site Manager (Afterschool Program Site Manager) is primarily accountable for academic and family engagement programming.
Physical demands associated with tutoring and enrichment activities may include: sitting, standing, walking, alternative sitting or standing at will, lifting or carrying up to 25lbs, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, and or climbing.
Job Responsibilities:
Enrichment Planning Responsibilities ( 10 hrs/week )
● Attend mandatory, in person, enrichment/SEL(BOTVIN) planning meetings with Enrichment team
● Collaborate with manager about SEL/enrichment schedule and needs
● Point of contact for Enrichment Team about site enrichment programming (Field Trips, Bus, SEL, Onsite)
● Oversee REC programming fulfilling enrichment grant goals
● Coordinate onsite enrichment activities, specifically use and transportation of enrichment bins, skis and bikes
● Plan and organize SEL (BOTVIN) curriculum
● Coordinate and lead off site enrichment activities, specifically field trip logistics
● Coordinate with Site Manager to purchase enrichment and SEL supplies
● 5 hours per week mandatory office hours
● Other duties as assigned
Programming Responsibilities ( 15-18 hrs/ week)
● Perform responsibilities of Site Manager in the event they are absent from programming
● Access student information and attendance data
● Communicate information and directives about enrichment to staff and students within the program
● Facilitate SEL (BOTVIN) curriculum
● Ensure the programming space is prepped before programming and left clean after programming
● Collaborate with manager to evaluate site tutors
● Take notes and present enrichment lessons at weekly staff meetings
● Implement and oversee a Positive Behavior Support system
● Support an effective student check-in/check-out process
● Other duties as assigned
Calificaciones
● Strong academic base
● Proficiency in or capacity to learn Google Suite
● Prefer an individual who has experience working with assisting youth overcome barriers
● Strong leadership and organizational skills
● Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Strong ability to multitask
● Capable of being flexible when needed
● Effective oral and written communication skills
● Bilingual skills beneficial, but not mandatory
Detalles de la posición
● Part-time position (20-28 hours) following Mesa County School District 51’s school year (Fall and Spring semesters) and a three-week summer program in June
● On-site hours during programming time during the school year, additional hours with other REC tasks outlined above
● Ability to work three to four evenings after programming per semester, occasional Saturdays and other non-school days for outdoor programming and field trips
● $18.50-$20.50/hour based on experience
● $20.50-$22.50/hr (Senior Level PA)
● Accrued HFWA Sick Leave. (1 hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 48 hours a year) ● $250/ month health stipend
