About REC:
Riverside Education Centers (REC) is a private, non-profit corporation 501(c)(3) that has been serving the community
since 2006, providing structured tutoring and diverse enrichment activities in the after-school hours for academically and
financially qualifying 1st-12th grade students in order to improve academic achievement and foster positive social and
emotional development in a safe and supportive environment.

Job Summary:
Riverside Educational Center (REC) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides after-school tutoring and
enrichment activities at 15 D51 schools in the Grand Valley. The position of Snack Manager is intended to oversee the
snack program, feeding up to 700+ kids at 16 REC sites daily, and also supervise the Snack Assistant.
Physical demands associated with this position may include: sitting, standing, walking, alternative sitting or standing at will,
lifting or carrying up to 40 lbs, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, and or climbing.
Responsibilities:
● Main snack contact
● Maintain kitchen area as per health department standards
● Contact for health department
● Create and provide each site with monthly calendar
● Have snack ready for pick-up by 1:30 p.m.
● Weekly trips to Palisade Food Bank
● Daily trips to Sam’s Club and/or City Market
● Place orders to Sysco and Meadow Gold at least one week ahead of time
● Snack inventory
● Prepare up to 700 snacks daily (must have 5 components that meet requirements for government reimbursement)
● Monitor and manage snack delivery or pick-up
● Menu/Calendar prepare and upkeep
● Required visits to sites; prepare reports for government agencies
● Responsible for making sure monitoring paperwork is turned in/managed
● Supervise Snack assistant, and keep in communication with Operations Director
● Create and edit Menu
● Monitor cooler temperatures
● Check for field trips
● Record keeping
● CACFP Regulations- track and follow
● Manage and turn in receipts
● Gain Food Bank annual approval
● CACFP pre approval forms
● CACFP food license exemption
● Applying for summer snack
● Updated checklists
● Checking staff snack checklist
● Create snack manual
● Make sure all staff touching snack is properly trained
● Track who is picking up snack
● Responsible for the preparation and production of high-quality salsas in accordance with standardized recipes and
food safety guidelines.
● Other duties as needed
Calificaciones
● High school diploma or equivalent
● Associates degree or higher in nutrition preferred
● 1-2 years of food handling and preparation experience
● Food handler’s certification, or ability to get it immediately after hire
● Proficiency in or capacity to learn Google Suite
● Prefer an individual who has experience working with assisting youth overcome barriers
● Strong leadership and organizational skills
● Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Strong ability to multitask
● Capable of being flexible when needed
● Effective oral and written communication skills
● Bilingual skills are beneficial, but not mandatory

Full-time (40 hours per week), 7:30am-3:30pm
● Hourly compensation rate based on qualifications and experience: pay range is $19-$23
● Benefits:
o $500/month stipend which can be applied to healthcare (included in paycheck to use is at employee’s
discretion)
o $25/month phone stipend
● Vacation/PTO: 30 days annually
o Ten (10) paid holidays
o One week (5 days) scheduled PTO in December
o One week (5 days) scheduled PTO in July
o Ten (10) additional accrued days of flexible PTO
● Traditional programming follows D51 school calendar, additional summer programming in June.
